Seen a car from Cardwell Transport price seems off anyone dealt with them?

Not sure if this is the right place but thought I’d ask before doing anything daft. Came across a 2020 Nissan X-Trail on Gumtree being advertised by Cardwell Transport. Price is well, quite a bit under what I’d expect for that spec and mileage. With all the nonsense going around lately I’m a bit wary. Has anyone bought a car through them or heard anything solid?

Haven’t bought from them myself but I’ve heard the name mentioned
A mate of mine does bits of work with a garage that prepares cars for companies like that. From what he said, a lot of their stock comes from finance repossessions and fleet clearances
Didn’t sound like anything dodgy from what he told me

I’d still be careful cheap listings + “pay before delivery” usually sets off alarm bells for me. Not saying they’re dodgy, just that it’s the same pattern you see with scams
If you can’t physically check the car before handing money over, you’re taking a risk

Out of curiosity I looked Carwell Transport up earlier they’ve been registered a few years now and everything checks out on Companies House under CESC CARDWELL TRANSPORT LTD

Also sent them an email just to see what sort of response I’d get and they came back pretty quickly, seemed fairly professional

Same here, hadn’t heard of them before this week did a bit of digging this morning and found a few mentions on different forums. Looks like they’ve only recently started pushing repo car sales more actively
Pricing being lower sort of makes sense if they’re dealing with repossessions, but yeah… still not something I’d rush into

Hi all,

I actually went over there a few weeks back, flew in from Manchester to have a look at a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe they had listed. Originally had my eye on a BMW 520d as well, but decided to check both while I was there
Guy I spoke to (think his name was Mark?) sorted everything when I arrived, no pressure, let me have a proper look round and test drive. Ended up taking the Hyundai in the end. Whole thing was done same day
Airport’s basically next to everything so it was an easy trip

Funny this has come up I’ve been looking at a Jaguar F-Pace they’ve got listed on eBay. Done the usual checks company reg, phone call, emails nothing seemed off
Still can’t shake the feeling though… sending money before seeing it just doesn’t sit right

Morning

Thought I’d chip in as I’ve actually bought a Seat Tarraco from Cardwell Transport about three months ago!
I won’t lie, I was uneasy about transferring money without seeing it first. Spoke to them a few times before doing anything and they explained the process in detail. Mine took just over a week to arrive. Was meant to be quicker but got pushed back slightly, they kept me updated though so wasn’t a big issue

Cheers!
