Generation 4 Prius Plug-In Hybrid-EV Conversion
NAVITEL replied to NAVITEL's topic in General Car Chat
I would like to express my gratitude to TechnoTrailblazer for providing a coherent explanation. I am eagerly anticipating BhxTrev's insights on this matter. It is my belief that a little decrease in electric vehicle (EV) mileage is to be expected, contingent upon prevailing circumstances. Furthermore, the engine makes every effort to recover from this minor decrease. In general, it may be argued that using the battery's energy for a duration of at least 30 seconds, even during periods of engine inefficiency, yields a little increase in overall efficiency. -
Generation 4 Prius Plug-In Hybrid-EV Conversion

Thank you for your insightful response. I have seen that my observations align well with your analysis. However, I am puzzled about the marginal decrease in electric vehicle (EV) mileage. The decline in altitude is not abrupt; rather, it exhibits a steady reduction of around 0.3 to 0.4 miles over a duration of approximately 30 to 40 seconds. However, it is worth noting that under certain situations, as you previously said, a significant portion of the "losses" may be recovered. The provided explanation about the observed phenomenon seems to be very insightful. It may be inferred that the Prius Brain has superior knowledge and understanding compared to human cognition. There does not seem to be any discernible issues present. The battery consistently maintains its charge level without experiencing unexpected reductions, consistently displaying the same electric vehicle (EV) range as seen on the previous day. I highly regard your perspective and express gratitude once again. I am open to receiving more insightful input from you and really appreciate it. -
Greetings to everybody, When transitioning from electric vehicle (EV) mode to hybrid vehicle (HV) mode, it has been consistently observed that there is a rapid decrease in EV miles by around 0.2 to 0.5 miles, despite the engine activating promptly. This outcome is unexpected, as one would anticipate the preservation or even a gain in EV miles during this transition. In essence, my understanding was that once the HV mode is engaged, the electric vehicle (EV) miles remain fixed. However, I have seen a little decrease in EV range, and while the engine does partially replenish the lost EV range (about 0.3 miles), it never returns to the initial level achieved upon activating the HV mode. I am inquiring about the normalcy of my present situation. Despite the lower temperatures, I am now able to get a full charge of around 43 miles. I would want to express my gratitude in advance for any input that I may get.

I am the proud owner of a 2023 Machine Grey CX-5.

I propose implementing a Paint Protection Film (PPF) over the anterior portion of the hood, ranging from 25% to 50% coverage. -
The high regenerative braking system was first used, but, under urban driving conditions, it was seen to have a quite forceful behavior. Returning to the standard mode of operation.

I am in possession of a 2016 CX-5 in the color Soul Red. The only imperfections consist of three minor abrasions caused by the projection of road debris. Although I am aware of their presence, it is incumbent upon me to bring them to the attention of others. In contrast, my vehicle has a striking resemblance to more recent models released within the last year or two. Dealers often exhibit a preference for white and silver vehicles due to their ease of touch-up maintenance on the sales lot. The Soul Red variant indeed incurs a $500 surcharge; nevertheless, I believe this additional cost is justified given the enhanced safety features it offers. The colors white and silver become less visible in rainy conditions among dense vehicular congestion. I operated a commercial vehicle in a northern region for a brief while, during which the management implemented a uniform aesthetic by ensuring that all trucks were uniformly painted in the color red. In the event of being trapped during a snowstorm, it is possible to seek refuge inside our equipment. Notably, a red fender would exhibit visibility in snowy conditions, but a white fender would not.

The issue lies in the need for it to be connected to both entities.

A little pin is required to be inserted between the piston and the holes in the lid.

The use of a plastic piston/dampener facilitates the gradual and controlled opening of the lid. The object is secured in position with a little plastic pin. It seems that your situation has ceased to exist.

Is the catch being adjusted or tightened, a task that can only be performed while the CD player is removed? Has the catch sustained any damage? I am uncertain about the nature of the object referred to as a "thingy." Is it designed to retain cables? Are there any visual representations available?

I acknowledge that the topic I am about to ask may be considered elementary and may have been addressed before. Therefore, I am open to receiving any guidance or suggestions on the matter. Would my insurance policy become void if I were to install wider tires on the current 19-inch rims? I am contemplating replacing the Continental tires that were installed last year with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires in the size of 295/30. This decision is prompted by the fact that the previously fitted Continental tires have shown inner tread wear after a mileage of 13,000. The vehicle had an inspection of its rear tracking and was found to be in satisfactory condition. However, it is necessary to replace both of the rear tires. Please refer to the accompanying image depicting a single tire that has begun to deteriorate. Based on the information gathered from the forum and many YouTube comparisons, it has been seen that a significant number of respondents favor Michelin tires. One notable difference highlighted in these comparisons is the broader burdened track width of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires compared to the Continental Sport Contact 2 tires. Consequently, this has influenced my inclination towards opting for the 295 width over the 275 width in the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. I am eager to hear about your collective experiences, ideas, or advise. I express my gratitude for your assistance.

However, the displayed value will be limited to about 90 amps due to the fact that alternators typically operate at 80% of their maximum capacity. In the event of insufficient amperage or voltage, the problem may be attributed to the alternator. Examine the condition of the harness connected to the alternator to determine its state. If the harness is found to be damaged or faulty, it is likely the source of the problem. However, if the harness is in proper working order, the issue is likely attributed to the alternator itself.

The topic of discussion pertains to aftermarket air filters.
NAVITEL replied to Treeri's topic in General Car Chat
Over the course of the weekend, I participated in a Bosch training program focused on sensors. During the training, I had the opportunity to see and document the effects of using oiled filters or aftermarket "high performance" filters on the Mass Airflow Sensors (MAF). This was accomplished by capturing images of the MAFs under a microscope, which clearly revealed the detrimental impact of such filters on the MAF functionality. The absence of issues experienced by an individual does not always imply the absence of damage or the erroneous functioning of the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor. Each instance in which I acquire an automobile equipped with an oil filter, I promptly dispose of such filter in a waste receptacle. As previously mentioned by others, there are web films that provide evidence to support the claim that they do not enhance power. -
Any recommendations for effective cleaning solutions?

The previous owner of my Avant apparently dumped handfuls of dog hair beneath the dashboard without my knowledge. I took off the headliner and all the panels and cleaned them, but when it's hot and humid, I still smell like a dog. Do you have any clue what might be trapping this odor and how to eliminate it?

Simply request a new battery replacement and be certain that they will have enough on hand as this component is not unique.

You bought the car from a dealer, correct? If so, then, unless they disclosed the prior history and informed you that it would void the warranty, they will likely be responsible for repairing, replacing, or refunding the item. If you purchased it from a dealer, you should consult Citizens Advice or Trading Standards regarding your rights under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.

You may wish to inquire if anyone has a Haynes manual for your Kuga's model year. I presume the breakdown covers the powertrain.

You may want to try asking if anyone has a Haynes manual for your Model year Kuga? I assume the engine is covered in the breakdown.
