another_clean_sheet
Hello everyone, I am curious to know who is now using an outdated green paper driving license for their driving purposes. I will be turning 70 in the near future and have made the decision to update my outdated green paper license, which was granted in the early 1970s. This update is necessary since my licence will need replacement at that time. Additionally, possessing a passport or any other kind of picture identification, separate than my bus ticket, would greatly facilitate the process of providing identification, since bus passes are often not accepted as genuine photo identification. Nowadays, several companies need individuals to provide some kind of photographic identification, either in person or online. This growing trend is posing challenges for those of older generations, like me, who find it more difficult to establish their identity. allmightyASTON
Indeed, I continue to only use my antiquated Green device. I refuse to incur a further expense of £10 when the first payment has already been paid.
another_clean_sheet
The current cost of upgrading to a picture license is £20.
ENVIOclev
I replaced mine few years ago. I retained the 8 pieces of antiquated paper licenses for as long as feasible, but it eventually became burdensome. The picture card version is stored in the window section of my wallet, allowing me to easily present it as photo identification when necessary. peakroach
The £20 amount was already undesirable, far more so than when it was £10. I am not inclined to contribute money to the Government unless it is necessary. LOL.
Doncaster34
Another individual who abandoned the physical version of the document many years ago. Primarily, I am hesitant to remove it from the plastic wallet it is in, because of its current condition. I acquired it in the mid-1970s. torque2me
My wife possesses only the physical copy of her identification. During a recent visit to the bank, she encountered a situation where the bank employee declined to accept her paper ID. In response, I proposed that either someone else assist us or that we close our accounts. Promptly, an individual emerged from the rear section of the bank, resolving the issue. It is reasonable to expect that if paper IDs are deemed acceptable by the police, they should be accepted by all others, until my wife reaches the age of 70. After three years, the age is very advanced!
