TechnoTrailblazer
I am enquiring whether anyone can alleviate my concerns. I owned a 2012 1.4 Civic for five years, which operated exceptionally well, characterised by its smoothness and quietness. However, upon upgrading to a 2021 model Civic 1.5 turbo, I have noticed that it is considerably noisy upon startup and during operation. The gearbox exhibits a lack of precision and vibrates slightly during shifts, while both road and cabin noise levels are markedly elevated. Is there a mechanical issue, or is this model inherently noisier and less refined? Thank you in advance.

mrnobady
I have only driven 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th generation vehicles, therefore I am unable to assist, unfortunately.
MidnightMarauder
I have just noticed this; I apologise for the delayed response. This does not seem accurate. I own a 2021 1.5, which is among the most silent vehicles I have ever used. Upon first startup, it tends to idle at a slightly elevated RPM, but stabilises after around one minute; otherwise, it operates very quietly. The gearbox exhibits little notchiness; yet, it remains accurate and free of vibrations. I recommend that you get the engine and gearbox mounts inspected. It is advisable to have a Honda dealer inspect the vehicle, particularly if it still under warranty.
TechnoTrailblazer
I was unaware until after purchasing the vehicle that it was formerly a Motability car; it is unlikely that a car could be significantly damaged within three years and 15,000 miles. TechnoTrailblazer
I purchased it from Honda Marshall, and it has just 15,000 kilometres on the odometer. Their technician conducted an extensive evaluation and said that, considering its age, the vehicle is in acceptable condition.
MidnightMarauder
I purchased it from Honda Marshall (Reading) with 23,000 miles on the odometer. The only method to ascertain this is to either consult another Honda dealer or locate another owner for comparison. I presume it has a guarantee from Honda Marshall. If so, you should ensure there is no genuine problem with the automobile before the expiration and resolve it promptly. The more you postpone addressing any concerns, the more challenging it will become to resolve them. If it is determined that there are no difficulties, I can only state that based on your description, it does not resemble the automobile I am operating. TechnoTrailblazer
I believe my sensitivity to noise is the issue, but I will get it re-evaluated. Thank you for the responses. 👍
colinallcars
In the last year or two, I have seen several unfavourable postings on Honda Marshall in three Honda forums. Perusal They deny any awareness of identified issues and demand payment. I used their services once, however once the postings were disseminated to Maidenhead Honda, their demeanour was much more favourable. MidnightMarauder
I purchased my automobile from them, and it seems to be functioning OK; however, I have only had it for eight months. I do not use their auto servicing; instead, I take my vehicle to a nearby Honda dealer, hence I cannot provide commentary on their after-service care. Nonetheless, if that is the situation, it seems to be a matter of buyer beware.
