Satellite Navigation System Upgrade

Recommended Posts

After installing the MAZDA TOOLBOX software, if you have the SD card type (mine is MZD TYPE), you download the Mazda software and insert your card into your PC.

I only have a 3mb connection, so downloading took several hours.

It will then guide you through the process of updating. On my 2019 version, it's supposed to be updated twice a year; the last update was in February, so it's long overdue:(

The cards with the most recent maps can be purchased from the dealer or eBay; determine which is more affordable!

Avoid it since it is the one flaw in the CX-5; it is a pure POS, and they demand payment if you want real traffic, etc. >:(.
My everlasting subscribtion Clearly, the Tomtom mount adheres to the CX-5's console display screen.

My indefinite subscription The Tomtom mount adheres wonderfully to the CX-5's console display screen, thus problem solved 😉

Interesting. I'm curious whether this configuration will cause long-term harm to the screen (missing pixels, etc.).

Their server speeds are consistently terrible.

My download speed is just 2.9 mbps, therefore why does my laptop report that, after downloading a 7500 MB file between 8:50 am and 10:20 am, only 20% has been downloaded?

I just purchased a new Mazda CX-5. Having previously had a Prius+, I was used to an excellent entertainment system, including voice control. On that aspect, I was rather disappointed with the CX-5; it's a terrific vehicle to drive, but the entertainment system is clumsy at best. The most serious issues were the USB always crashing and the Bluetooth and USB always beginning at the same track. USB took 5-10 minutes to start, compared to the Toyota's 2-3 seconds.

So I went to the dealer and complained, and they ordered a new Bluetooth module for me. It took a couple of weeks, but things are much better today. Both USB and Bluetooth now resume where you left off, plus a few additional features are functional. Starting the first music is significantly quicker, maybe 10-20 seconds over USB and a bit longer via Bluetooth. Once the first track begins, you must wait a few minutes before changing tracks while they are loaded, but the system is now operational. The delay seems to be due to the vast number of customers having their systems repaired; the module is exchangeable, so I suppose they are sent back to be updated before being delivered to the next client.

Hi All,
I just got a 2014 Sport Nav model of the CX-5 a few weeks ago.

I quickly learned that when I restart the car, the audio system always plays the first file on either my phone or the USB stick I've put in the car.

Do I have it right that I can ask a Mazda dealer to fix this for free under the warranty? I really hope so, because it's driving me nuts!
