Is it worthwhile to repair or replace the engine?
coolguy replied to Treeri's topic in General Car Chat
The situation seems unfavourable. -
Typically, the bonnet malfunctions or becomes damaged.

Greetings! Indeed, I will get my own scan gear in the near future. I appreciate your advice. I have conducted a scan which indicates that there is a problem with the intake manifold runner control solenoid being stuck in the open position. This defect is directly linked to the misfire, decreased fuel efficiency, and reduced power output at low engine speeds. These are the findings of the scan. The previous owner used an incompetent technician, resulting in several missing connections. However, the primary shortcomings are: P0100 The code is P0368. The code P2539 P2005 P2014 I conducted much research, but I would really appreciate any assistance with these codes.

Although I sought the assistance of a technician, he was unable to identify the root cause of the misfire. It is worth noting that in Morocco, where these engines are not widely used, it is uncommon to find a mechanic with expertise in Audi V8s. After doing a diagnostic, it has been determined that there is a misfiring issue in all of the cylinders. Could the aluminium manifold be correlated?

Greetings! I just purchased an Audi S5 B8, which consistently displays illuminated EPC and traction control lights without any intermittent flashing. The engine has frequent misfires and sometimes fails to accelerate at traffic lights. The vehicle experiences severe vibrations and despite applying maximum pressure on the accelerator, there is no increase in power output. After a few hesitant revolutions, it suddenly accelerates forcefully. I replaced all of the spark plugs due to their deteriorated condition, as I believed they were the likely culprit. The coil pack underwent testing and was found to be in proper working condition. However, it was seen that some of the coil pack connections are damaged. To ensure that there is no loose coil connection, I secured the broken connectors using zip ties. The occurrence of misfiring in the automobile persists, resulting in a severely compromised driving experience. If you have had the similar problem, do inform me of the specific aspects I should investigate. The mechanics here use a strategy of replacing each individual element in order to identify the source of the problem. I suspect the occurrence of a vacuum leak or brake booster leak, which may sometimes happen after prolonged acceleration, such as at traffic stops.

The Mercedes dealership owned by George Fraser is located in Uxbridge, which is not a considerable distance from your current location. Highly competent and well-informed crew -
Thank you for the valuable comments, which enhances our understanding.

Indeed. Rational. It is necessary to reset the error codes and then do another scan.

It seems that you may not have properly installed the air intake system, causing air to skip the filter.

I appreciate all of the responses. Today, I am experiencing a more positive sentiment for my Evoque. The vehicle is quite comfortable, however the maintenance costs have been substantial, particularly due to my lack of complete confidence in the quality of the "new" JLR components. Regardless, I will have the balancing shaft rebuilt and assess the situation thereafter.

May your success last for a long time!

Greetings It has been an extended period of time since I last visited this place (feeling regretful), but I recently remembered all of you and wondered whether the forum is still thriving. You are engaging in the act of reading the postings. I now own a 2019 white HSE Dynamic and despite encountering several technical and mechanical problems, I have maintained a strong affection for the vehicle. However, a significant issue has suddenly emerged - the need for a new balancing shaft. My vehicle has accumulated less than 20,000 miles and, while it is rather old, JLR has been completely uncooperative on this issue. This has caused me to seriously question whether I should continue to purchase and drive JLR automobiles. I am also capable of operating a Mini of the same vintage, which has seen far less mechanical problems compared to the Evoque. Although it may seem melancholic, this article really reflects my sentiments about my Evoque. 😞 I am uncertain about the specific information I am seeking and if there are any individuals available to provide a response. Could someone please clarify? Thank you.

y the way, if you're seeking a solution, I acquired a basic AMI-to-Aux cable a long time ago. Subsequently, I connected a brief Auxiliary to USB-C cable, and I have been using it consistently since then. A significant number of AMI-to-USB-C adapters did not function as music streaming devices, but rather just served the purpose of charging the phone. However, implementing it in this manner works well. Clearly, it lacks wifi functionality, but I am OK with that. Alternatively, there are Bluetooth to FM-transmitter adapters that may be inserted into your 12V power outlets. One of the individuals in our group had a commendable notion a few years ago - he placed one of these devices in the front trunk of the vehicle, since there is a 12V power outlet available in that location. Therefore, it is situated in a remote location and does not detract from the visual appeal in any way. To stream, establish a Bluetooth connection and adjust the FM radio to the appropriate frequency. I am uncertain about the exact level of quality, but the direct cable exhibits a quite commendable level of quality. -
Do you believe that the headers were worthwhile?

The configuration of my exhaust system consists of a straight pipe. The trajectory of the cats extends in a linear path directly from the centre of my bumper.

Hello, I own a 2018 Audi R8 and I'm curious if anybody in this community has ever removed the catalytic converters from their vehicle, either by physically cutting them off or by gutting them. I would appreciate any insights or experiences shared. Thank you. I have a strong preference for loud autos and I currently have an exhaust system, but it lacks the desired loudness.

It seems that there is a poor connection at that corner. There may be a little level of corrosion present on the contacts. -

As said, excellent job. However, please refrain from excessively using them, since we BMW drivers must maintain our reputation. Thank you for the information. It might perhaps be beneficial to someone in the future. -
I am examining the soft bumper guard and have a few inquiries. What is the method of attachment? Is it compatible with the rubber cargo tray that has seat back protection?
-
That now resembles a Karcher.

If the battery in question is the original one, then it is advisable to replace it with a new one. I may have an internal malfunction that establishes contact, but when subjected to a load, it interrupts the contact. If the appearance of the item is identical to mine, it is worth noting that my item has been non-functional for some years. To my knowledge, its only purpose is to enable stop/start functionality, without affecting any other functions.
