There is a knocking or vibration at the back of the W205 C63 while going over bumps.

For W205 owners: Have any of you experienced any rattling noises coming from the back, similar to the one below?

The movie clearly captures the sound of the rattling, which is most pronounced between 2-6s, then again between 8-12s, and finally around 16 and 22s, as I am driving on a local road. The mobile phone holder emits a little noise, but the predominant sound is the noise itself.

The car has been sent to Mercedes, where two new rear shocks were installed to replace a blown one that might have been causing banging sounds. Additionally, a local independent mechanic attempted to improve the fit of the boot lid, while Mercedes addressed some panels under the back seats. However, these efforts did not resolve the issue. In addition to removing the plastic covers from the lower suspension arms, I attempted to address the issue, but unfortunately, it did not provide any positive results.

I have elevated it using jacks and thoroughly inspected it, but I did not see any apparent issues. The material seems to be a combination of plastic and metal, particularly evident when it produces vibrations when traversing bumps. Evidently, all the components located under the vehicle, including drop links, are in satisfactory condition. I have taken the necessary steps to remove all items from the trunk. Are there any well recognised locations to inspect?

It seems like we have the same issue based on the information provided. I had both the suspension and brakes thoroughly inspected by two separate technicians, although they were unable to identify any issues.
Its modest volume makes it more conspicuous at low speeds.

I am experiencing a same issue with my 2007 E350. Occasionally, I experience a repetitive and audible "thumping noise" whenever I encounter a pothole or encounter any other substantial irregularity on the road surface. This noise seems to originate from the underside of the rear of the vehicle. The noise seems to resemble the sound produced when the exhaust system comes into contact with the underside of the vehicle. I have consulted my mechanics on the problem, and they have thoroughly examined all components, including the exhaust, suspension, wheels, and steering systems. However, they have not identified any abnormalities or faults.

Upon reflection, I am contemplating the possibility that the battery in the trunk may have been dislodged, causing it to move abruptly when encountering a rough surface. This movement may be responsible for the vibrations that give the impression that the noises are originating from underneath our automobiles.

I saw a video on YouTube by Scotty where he used a multi-microphone apparatus to detect and locate sound origins. I attempted to use a solitary microphone, but the ambient noise emanating from the automobile overwhelms all other sounds.

I assume that the issue may lie with either the amplifier unit in the rear right, the rear lamps, or a loose plate below the vehicle.

I am interested to know whether you have resolved the issue with this noise problem. Last year, I had a similar issue and was assured that everything was OK. However, since the problem seemed familiar, I made the decision to replace the anti-roll bar links and tighten them securely. Now it is quite smooth. I also had a similar issue on another 211 a couple of years ago, namely with the front suspension top mount. The problem was with the ball joint on a triangular component made of steel or aluminium, rather than the larger U-shaped piece it attaches to.

No, the issue has not been resolved yet. I have consulted many mechanics, and each one has provided varying viewpoints and suggested solutions. A technician recommended replacing the front upper strut mounts and also advised changing the shock absorbers in the front. Prior to presenting his inquiry conclusions, he diligently secured several nuts and bolts below. One had replaced its front shock absorbers and link pins.
As a result of conflicting viewpoints, I have purchased a vehicle noise detection equipment and will connect it once it comes to pinpoint the precise origin of the problem before taking it to a technician for repairs.
Please include any hyperlinks, images, or videos that serve as references for the repairs you mentioned, such as anti-roll bars, front shock absorber top mounts, and ball joints.

Have you successfully identified the underlying reason behind this? We own a GLC vehicle that is experiencing a banging sound, which is particularly noticeable while driving at speeds below 30mph. We previously replaced the anti-roll bar linkages, which seemed to resolve the issue temporarily. However, the problem has resurfaced once again. Regrettably, considering the current condition of the roads, I am uncertain whether this issue will persist in the future. I would appreciate it if you could inform me whether or not you have resolved the issue. Thank you.
