The scanner must be of high quality. Reexamine and enumerate the codes herein.

What trouble codes are currently present? You should possess a contingency plan in the event of a failure to initiate. Which scanner did you get, and is it compatible with BMW vehicles?

CX-90 PHEV and drivetrain grinding from first to second gear
johnmayerrr replied to Starcar2022's topic in General Car Chat
I understand. Yesterday, my wife accompanied me and experienced "the crunch" for the first time. She inquired, "What was that?" and I clarified that the automobile was functioning properly and that it was only a noise produced by the vehicle. Subsequently, she made a disparaging remark on the cheap impression it imparts to the automobile. I have had a mostly affectionate, albeit sometimes resentful, connection with my wife with my CX-90. She assisted me in deciding to get my Mazda instead of an Acura or Telluride. Upon learning about the Acura's fuel efficiency, she expressed dissatisfaction. As I was focusing on the Telluride, she said that the CX-90 was more aesthetically pleasing and distinctive in comparison to the Telluride. She said that the CX-90 had a resemblance to a BMW and seemed to be a car suited for an individual who has "accomplished something in life." Nonetheless, I had previously mocked her incessantly on the many problems we had with her former 2014 Grand Cherokee, and when we acquired her 2019 Jeep, I ensured the purchase of an extended warranty. However, her 2019 Grand Cherokee has been mostly trouble-free, but my CX-90 has required far more visits to the repair shop, and for longer durations, compared to her previous 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, despite the difficulties with the CX-90 being less serious. It has been unenjoyable to endure her criticisms on my CX-90 PHEV during the last two years. Nonetheless, she appreciates my somewhat seldom visits to the petrol station.๐ -
No one I know will sell on eBay now that the restrictions have been altered. Advantageous for purchasers. Anything except that, for sellers. Excessively costly and very susceptible to theft. Ebay mostly favours purchasers as well.

AGM or standard 12V charging mode?
johnmayerrr replied to Needsnewtyres2's topic in General Car Chat
Just look at the battery , it will say if it's AGM and if it has a vent hole on any of the sides, it will likely be a regular lead acid. Most cars now with batteries in the cabin (like under the back seat) will be AGM. AGM batteries will have different charging characteristics. If you change from one to the other, you're supposed to go into the cars programming and change the settings in order to get maximum life of the battery. Not that any battery will last more than 5 years in Texas. -
Thank you very much. That is rather excessive, regrettably. Is there anybody in or near Bucks?

Greetings to everybody. I hope you are in good health. Can anybody suggest an AMG expert in the Buckinghamshire region, please? Thank you very much

Vehicle Fails to Start - No Cranking Action
johnmayerrr replied to QuirkyPixel's topic in General Car Chat
Well it's home! Did it all wrong by not attempting it again first - instead I plugged the booster pack up under the hood and attempted a start with the spare key and it started right up I will examine the earth connections and the battery box today to identify any apparent issues and will provide an update. -

Consideration: The vehicle is stationed on an inclineโan experience I have yet to do. Is it feasible to bump start a diesel engine with ease? -

I will also examine them. Does the solenoid click when the starter is engaged, or is it indicative of a solenoid failure? I hope it is a "traditional" solution rather than the CAS. -
It was a dealership specialising in damaged vehicles, none of which had undergone repairs; however, I missed the opportunity, and it was sold.

Discovered a whole suspension system; it is costly, although I doubt I want all the components. The seller claimed that many components are identical to those of the petrol/diesel model, yet I remain uncertain about this assertion. The motor drive shaft is a valid consideration; yet, it seems to be in excellent condition, warranting more contemplation.

Greetings to everyone, I trust this is the appropriate forum, but I want some guidance. I am considering purchasing a crash-damaged iX3, which is somewhat less than half the price of a comparable vehicle. The bodywork seems sufficiently straightforward to estimate the cost of the components. door and bumper. However, there is uncertainty about the rear wheel, specifically what components are missing and need replacement. Please review the photograph and provide guidance; that would be excellent. I am not a mechanic; yet, if it involves only nuts and bolts, I may attempt to repair it myself. Thank you

Cargo Tray with Seatback Protectors - now unavailable?
johnmayerrr replied to honeycut_mazda5's topic in General Car Chat
It has a lip at the edge, which may make it rather slippery for your dog as well. I believe I encountered many complaints on it from pet owners. I am uncertain if the OEM mats have been permanently withdrawn or whether they will be available again in the future. Several forum postings exist from individuals who have purchased counterfeit products from Amazon and expressed satisfaction with their acquisitions. If Weathertech and Husky prove ineffective, I believe that is the only alternative. -

These possess a little smooth surface, lacking the rubberised texture of the OEM variants, hence they may or may not meet your requirements. -

Consider using an endoscope, a small camera equipped with a light at the end of a flexible, spring-like cable.

Indeed, the natural shedding of surface rust on the mating surfaces, along with rust control measures on non-mating surfaces, would make them seemingly cleaner.
-
Indeed, use brake cleaner while replacing pads; nevertheless, refrain from using it for regular cleaning of rotors and pads. The substance is very corrosive, and if applied while the wheels are mounted on the vehicle, it will deteriorate the painted coatings and permanently damage the wheel finish. Furthermore, overspray may adhere to the vehicle's paint, perhaps resulting in complications. Rusted rotors after rainfall is typical and will dissipate with minor brake use during standard driving. To the original poster, you may invest significantly and get zinc-plated rotors for all wheels. Corrosion is unlikely to be an issue with them; nonetheless, you may incur significant financial loss as a result. As I already said, OP, accept it. It is typical and self-resolving with limited driving.

What should I consider before purchasing a 2025 model?
johnmayerrr replied to honeycut_mazda5's topic in General Car Chat
I opted to purchase a 2025 PHEV seeing several reports of issues from 2024 owners. Others may share their experiences, but I believe that most faults were rectified in cars produced after August or September 2024. I believe there is a rationale for the abundance of pre-owned, low-mileage 2024 CX-90s accessible; nonetheless, 2024 owners may provide insights based on their experiences. Thus far, my 2025 PHEV has been rather exceptional. I have seen the occasional gearbox noise while changing from 1st to 2nd gear, and I encountered a warning indication that proved inconsequential (specifically, an Oil Monitoring fault), as well as the temporary unavailability of I-Activesense or auto-headlights owing to rain or fog. While Mazda need more enhancements to the sensor and monitoring software, this car has been commendable overall. I have had it for around two months and have travelled just under 2,000 miles. I have refuelled it just twice, since most of my journeys fall within the electric vehicle range.
