For complete app access, it's around $80 on Amazon and $40 on Bimmerlink. -

Resolving an Issue with the Brake Pad Wear Sensor
johnmayerrr replied to motorman3's topic in General Car Chat
In my opinion, it must be obd2. In a way, or another. For example, bimmerlink. A bimmlink app and an obd2 dongle are at my disposal. In addition, you can verify sensor data and cell voltage by resetting all services. -

I have also done that. It is necessary to reset the service counter after replacing the sensors in order to inform the vehicle that they were replaced. All the way up until then, it will assume that you still require new brakes. Personally, I reset all of that using bimmer code. -
Cleaner for the C250 CDI intake manifold
johnmayerrr replied to WhisperingWillow's topic in General Car Chat
Something new. Under the vacuum pump, on the front left side (when looking from the front), is where you can find the shutter valve/anti-shudder valve. It looks like a throttle valve, but CDIs don't actually have any. Its sole purpose is to create a vacuum when the engine is turned off (thus eliminating the thump heard on older diesels) and, on occasion, to partially close (again, to aid EGR flow), so that the engine does not overheat. The derv engine's speed is mostly unrestricted because the only controls are the duration and pressure of the injectors, not a throttle. A spray hole would be created by the easily detachable air intake temperature sensor located on the rear of the device. -

Yes, you could remove it at the shutter valve (also known as an anti-shudder valve or throttle valve) and spray it in there from the top of the engine compartment. Another option is to use the hole behind the shutter valve, just below it, or the one through which the air intake temperature sensor sits. It's still quite a distance to the intake, but that's the closest easy point. -

For my curiosity's sake, why were they replacing instead of simply cleaning? It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to spray into the intake while avoiding the turbo or intercooler. In any case, you'll need to spray the carbon buildup directly with most of those sprays for them to work. The most effective solution would be to install an oil catch can between the PCV and the turbo intake. This will prevent the oil from leaking into the intakes and will ensure that the PCV runs smoothly. -
engine from a 2010 C180 CGi into a 2010 C250 CGi?
johnmayerrr replied to BENZE220AMG's topic in General Car Chat
They are both 271 Evo engines. While both engines have the same cubic capacity, the C180's higher compression ratio could cause it to overheat when subjected to the fuelling demands of the C250CGI ECU. -

Is the vehicle still consuming a 1 amp draw while in a deep sleep state? I continue to receive the โC1D00 EPB switch + additional fault short to ground body control moduleโ during the Forscan BCM test, which leads me to suspect the BCM. I have now deactivated the stop/start feature in Forscan, so it is no longer an annoyance to me! Salutations

Greetings everyone. Is there anyone who can inform me if or where I might locate a circuit diagram for a body control module? Is this applicable to my 2015 Mk5 1.5 Ecoboost Mondeo? Salutations

The crimson inside is very lovely, you know. My wife always gets her way, and this time she rejected my request for a CX-70 in Polymetal Grey with red upholstery in favour of a CX-90.

There isn't a single flaw when owners consider the whole infotainment system, including the placement and operation of the dials and knobs. Mazda did a great job with the design and planning. So far, the 30-to 60-second delay that occurs when my iPhone wirelessly syncs and activates Carplay is my only complaint. However, it's possible that this is more of an iPhone problem than a Mazda one.

The next step is to commit it to memory, which I already knew it would do.

Without a doubt, the control dial is magnificent.Nearly all of the time, I utilise it. Actually, I have no idea when I last interacted with a screen. I know you can only use the touchscreen in Carplay, but I use the dial every single time I'm driving. Mastering the "corner buttons" adjacent to the dial will allow you to swiftly access NAV, Carplay, Favourites, Car Settings, and Home. If you go down in Home and want to view more, the only drawback is that you have to go back up to the main Home page. Maybe you can use the corner button to do this....That sounds like something I should give a shot.

The headlights on my 2011 Kia Promenade 4 were much better, so I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Who ever takes a vehicle for a spin only to check the headlights? I'm going to have to get some high-quality bulbs and see if it helps, because I didn't think a 5-year-old car would have subpar ones.

My 2021 Nissan Niro self-charging headlights aren't very impressive, I must say. Can you suggest any alternatives to the halogen lights? Much obliged

The AMG Factor and the ML63 Suspension Bush
johnmayerrr replied to BENZE220AMG's topic in General Car Chat
In my opinion, it's a bust.... From the suspension section of the guidebook. A major defect (failure) exists when the bush actively drips oil or fluid, becomes extensively covered, or has compromised damping or structural performance. Potential Hazard: These bushes are engineered to dampen vibrations and are frequently loaded with hydraulic oil. The stability, control, and handling of the vehicle might be compromised if they malfunction. An advise may be issued instead of an immediate fail in the event that the bush is just slightly wet or has small residue (a "mist" or light weep) but is not excessively covered in oil, as long as the component is still functional. -
Why isn't the washer fluid going where it should?

At 75 miles per hour, mine operate just fine. Make sure the wiper arm is in the right place before continuing. The process of removing ice from the windscreen has unintentionally removed them.
