Greetings, gentlemen. I may be exhibiting signs of paranoia, but I would like your judgement on the level of smoothness shown during gear shifts. I am often apprehensive of new cars due to my heightened sensitivity to even little sounds, which might lead me to suspect that there may be a mechanical issue. The user's text consists of a laughing face emoji. I own a 2014 S5 equipped with the 7-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG). The upshifts in all modes are rapid, reactive, and seamless. When I use sport mode, downshifts become much more perceptible and sometimes abrupt, particularly at lower velocities. Should the downshifts in sport mode be impeccably smooth or is it normal to have little jerkiness? The vehicle just had a comprehensive gearbox maintenance, including a software upgrade to the most recent version. It did not get a gearbox tuning. 1. Do these gearboxes possess the ability to learn? 2. Is it expected for the downshifts to be very smooth?

Many modern automobiles, particularly those in the higher price range, have a greater need for passive battery power. This problem is worsened by the use of cheaper, lower-quality batteries by the manufacturer. My 2020 TNGA Toyota was plagued by recurrent issues with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) batteries during the two years that I had it. In addition, I encountered many other difficulties such as a faulty starter, gearbox issues, and paint defects. These issues, along with the battery problems, compelled me to get rid of the car after a mere two years and 9.5K miles of use. I recommend not keeping the OEM battery for more than a year, especially if you see any battery problems. Instead, it is advisable to proactively replace it with a premium battery. I consider myself fortunate that I did not have any problems with the original battery of my CX-30 until I took the initiative to replace it with a high-quality AGM cell after around 19-20 months.

Mercedes' Finest - Goodwood Festival of Speed

I believe I saw the same transporter at the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart a few years ago... An object that has qualities that are aesthetically pleasing and visually appealing. -

While it may be OK to inquire or request certain tasks, informing the dealer about the need of thoroughly warming up the engine prior to doing an oil change is likely to elicit an unfavourable reaction.

Is the gearbox flush scam not genuine?
allmightyASTON replied to DreamCatcher88's topic in General Car Chat
The impact of the automobile on the environment is contingent upon the level of use. The amount of 35k is rather little in relation to a flush, and each flush necessitates the replacement of the filter. I own a 2015 Jeep equipped with a CVT gearbox, which will undergo a tranny flush/filter replacement in the foreseeable future. Only because the handbook advises a flush at 60,000 units, and since the Jeep is equipped with a CVT gearbox. -
Assist in Enhancing the Appearance of My Mercedes!
allmightyASTON replied to KWILB's topic in General Car Chat
If something is not malfunctioning, there is no need to make any changes to it. Typically, when efforts are made to improve the appearance of a vehicle, particularly with limited financial resources, the outcome tends to be the opposite and it ends up looking worse. An immaculate and slightly lowered vehicle is far more aesthetically pleasing than a car adorned with several gaudy eBay accessories. -

Has the fuel pressure at the injector rail been verified for consistency? Have you examined the fuel filter? The list continues... -
Assistance required for R129 SL500 halting problem

When was the gearbox last serviced or the fluid level checked? A torque converter problem may cause an automated automobile to stall at moderate speeds. It is unlikely that any codes will be shown. -
Rattling noise coming from the doors of the CX-60.

The provided range is a rough estimate influenced by several variables such as ambient temperature and recent average use, all rooted in basic physics. This automobile is large and heavy, not optimised for high efficiency like a Tesla electric vehicle. The battery capacity is limited, maybe about 10 kilowatt-hours, especially in colder temperatures. Therefore, driving the vehicle from a warm garage to cold outside conditions would significantly reduce its range. Monitor the immediate usage indicator when accelerating in EV mode to see whether the heating/AC is on. Your energy efficiency may be 0.5 miles per kilowatt-hour. Recovering the lost energy requires either burning fuel or connecting to a power source. Simply said, the battery depletes at a faster rate. During warmer temperatures, using air conditioning instead of heating will use fewer kilowatt-hours (KWh), allowing you to go farther while using less energy. I am perplexed by how some individuals fail to comprehend this. To maximise your distance in electric vehicle mode, choose for a pure electric vehicle (EV) rather than a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). No disrespect meant; enjoy the journey 🙂

Is it necessary to programme a vehicle battery?
allmightyASTON replied to BENZE220AMG's topic in General Car Chat
Indeed, the SLC300 (R172) model does not need any coding and is free from any associated issues. I recommend procuring your batteries from Tayna.com, since they provide expedited next-day shipping service. EDIT: (This information was not apparent to me first, since the topic in question was posted in 2016.) -
Is there any knowledge available on the inclusion of a physical touch layer in all 12.3 inch panels across various markets? Based on my comprehension, it seems that in the United States, there are some trim levels, including the PHEV and 3.3 standard Premium, which are equipped with a 12-inch screen that lacks touch technology. If there has been prior discourse over the inclusion of touch technology in these devices, I am unaware of it. Undoubtedly, the absence of appropriate hardware poses a significant challenge in facilitating touch functionality, making it a more intricate process compared to a mere software activation. I hold the perspective that, if the interface is well designed, I strongly favour the use of a controller over a touch screen. The device is characterised by enhanced safety and improved user-friendliness. Additionally, the absence of fingerprints and smudges on the screen contributes to a visually appealing and hygienic user experience. Particularly when used in conjunction with voice input. Regardless, I hope that you are able to resolve this issue, Original Poster (OP).

F01 750i Adaptive Xenon to LED Headlights
allmightyASTON replied to allmightyASTON's topic in General Car Chat
Prior to my current vehicle, I had a 2013 535 model equipped with LED lights, which I quite enjoyed. I have just performed an update on the angel eyes and anticipate a future upgrade of the headlight bulbs. The endeavour at hand was more akin to a project that beyond my initial willingness to undertake, and I should have conducted more thorough investigation before embarking upon it. -
F01 750i Adaptive Xenon to LED Headlights
allmightyASTON replied to allmightyASTON's topic in General Car Chat
I have just acquired knowledge that this particular update is characterised by its high level of complexity, as it necessitates the alteration of the harness, as well as the implementation of flashing and coding procedures. Is there any information available on reputable vendors for the purchase of high-quality aftermarket LED headlights? It is hoped that this does not result in any mistakes. -
I am interested in enhancing the headlight system of my 2011 750I (WBAKA8C59BCY37145) by replacing the existing Adaptive Xenon headlights with the Adaptive LED headlights seen in the subsequent model, F02 750i. The adaptable LED devices exhibit a plug-and-play functionality, requiring no further coding for operation. Is this the situation, and if not, is there someone who can provide information on the requirements for compatibility with my vehicle?

I often browse the website but hardly engage in posting activities. It is peculiar that the 2.5 variant is not accessible inside the United Kingdom. The 194 brake horsepower variant is available in France. The CX-30 may maybe be my subsequent preference, however I am inclined to test it first due to its somewhat smaller size.

Is the navigation system a worthwhile investment?
allmightyASTON replied to TechnoTrailblazer's topic in General Car Chat
The use of a dedicated navigation system, independent of mobile devices and applications such as Google Maps, is deemed valuable and deserving of appreciation. It is posited that younger drivers exhibit a greater inclination towards using their mobile devices for various tasks, whilst elderly drivers have a comparatively less reliance on such technological devices. The CX9 vehicle that I acquired did not have a navigation card at the time of acquisition. However, I proceeded to get one from eBay as a precautionary measure. The user mostly use Android Auto for navigational purposes. However, in scenarios when cell network coverage is suboptimal, the user relies on Android Auto as a contingency measure. It is deemed valuable to possess.
