Recall 37P1 for Emissions

Recommended Posts

I have just got a recall notice from Audi about the emissions of my ECM and TCM modules. It is indicated that in sports mode, the emissions from the tailpipe may above the limits set by the EPA. In addition, they suggest that OBD error codes may persist and prevent the car from passing emissions testing. The notification further cautions that if the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or Gearbox Control Unit (TCU) of your Audi has been modified or enhanced with aftermarket tuning or chipping, Audi will impose a fee for restoring it to its original factory settings. I'm interested to know whether a cat back exhaust system is classified as a modification.

I am inquiring if this situation is akin to the dieselgate scandal, when automobiles were found to be compliant with federal regulations yet exceeded the prescribed limits. I would really dislike having the automobile repaired and then experiencing a decrease in power.

Here is the situation in California. If you choose not to proceed with the emissions update, the open emissions recall will be visible when you need to renew your registration with the DMV. This recall will be based on your vehicle identification number (VIN), and the DMV will not renew your registration until you have the update performed by Audi. Therefore, you are in a difficult situation. I will not allow Audi to do the tune-up and observe if the DMV denies the renewal. Subsequently, I will complete the task, get a renewal, and proceed to apply an aftermarket tune and reflash whenever I need a smog certification.

Regarding contemporary automobiles, the emissions testing and restrictions are entirely nonsensical. Currently, the emissions generated by tyres and brakes exceed those emitted from the exhaust. Electric vehicles (EVs) are as detrimental to the environment as internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

I received a same letter. Upon seeing the acronym EPA, I immediately recognised it as a representation of the Environmental Protection Agency, which led me to believe that the information being discussed is likely related to California and may be seen as misleading or false.

I did not get a letter, although several individuals from the first generation have indicated that they did. Did any owners in gated communities get one? Is there a pre-facelift version available? I am curious whether this issue is limited to just DCT automobiles.

Indeed, I too received mine today. I was curious about the matter, so I came here to seek information. Since I am also in California, I plan to follow the same path as you. Attempt to determine whether it is possible to renew in July without completing the process.

I like their emphasis on a somewhat inexpensive car, which is usually driven far less than the average yearly distance. If California really prioritised emissions reduction, they should concentrate their efforts on reintroducing school buses. What is the exact number of automobiles, in the thousands, that are idling and transporting children to and from school in my nearby area every day, including myself? California, please do the mathematical calculations.Rest: What an excellent strategy to transition individuals to aftermarket tuning...Laughing out loud
