  1. Acquire a Ctek MXS 5, and you may leave it connected indefinitely. My commitment lasts for six months at a time. The vehicle initiates on the first attempt. The following is a summary from Ctek. The MXS 5.0 is a sophisticated microprocessor-controlled battery charger that delivers unparalleled performance for lead-acid batteries ranging from 1.2 to 110Ah. It features integrated automatic temperature correction, guaranteeing optimal charging performance even under harsh conditions. The MXS 5.0 features battery diagnostics to determine the battery's ability to accept and hold a charge, a patented automatic desulphation program, an AGM option to enhance the performance lifespan of most Stop/Start batteries, and a specialised Recond mode for reconditioning severely discharged batteries. The MXS 5.0 employs CTEK’s proprietary float/pulse mechanism, recognised as the most effective maintenance mode for prolonged battery connection.
  2. You may contact Autoclass in MK. I have used them, and they seem satisfactory, however they are not the most economical option.
  3. Utilised the same method, but with a little pad on the "da" polishing machine.
  4. Thank you for your assistance. The code appears intermittently, about three times so far, and the system is occasionally difficult to start, while at other times it functions as expected. I will seek an other sensor. Does anybody know whether a new sensor requires calibration with the ECM during adaptations? Is it a straightforward replacement?
  5. Good morning, everyone. Today's brief insight is as follows: Starting in chilly conditions throughout the morning may be problematic, frequently necessitating a jump start. When the engine does start, the malfunction indicator light activates, indicating an issue with the crankshaft. What may be the reason of the position sensor issue? It will commence and operate throughout the day as anticipated. Research indicates that slack in the timing chain may result in jitter, hence creating an inconsistent correlation between the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
  6. Undoubtedly a fraudulent scheme; potential buyers need to do their own investigation.
  7. Thank you. I was concerned that a shorter measurement may provide inaccurate results, but I appreciate the clarification. It may take several days for it to reach in New Zealand, at a minimum.
  8. Indeed, I should and will likely need a scanner at some point. For the time being, I will use a temporary gun to target it.
  9. I have confirmed that it measures 1220 mm in length. Indeed.Caused me concern momentarily.
  10. Thank you. Assuming it is the appropriate length, I may state that at 80 degrees, it should register between 10 and 12. I should verify that it is 1220 long, since I recall seeing a measurement in the 900s, despite it being my waggon.
  11. Hello again, I am still unable to resolve this issue; nonetheless, how can I determine the appropriate number of ATF required for my gearbox? If I immerse my dipstick into the tube before to a drain and refill to the same level post-drain, how can one ascertain the accuracy of the measurement? The dipstick I have ordered is an aftermarket one with increments of 10, 20, 30, 40, etc., however it provides no useful information. I cannot just pour in 6 or 7 litres and assume that is accurate. Does the authentic Merc dipstick possess the accurate high/low measurements, or need I consult a dealer for verification? Any feedback is once again welcomed.
  12. I have just observed this; I could have offered you mine for £100, inclusive of postage, which is seldom utilised and is as new.
  13. Thank you for your reply. The garage have the capability to do a software upgrade, since they are Mercedes-Benz specialists in Birmingham. What is your opinion on a software update? Thank you for the information on ATF servicing. I believed it was had to be completed every 60,000 miles. I appreciate your assistance, everyone.
  14. Thank you for your reply. The garage linked the star to it but detected no defects. The alternatives presented to me were to first verify for any software changes next week and thereafter examine the valve body. They were astonished that nothing was revealed about the celebrity as well.
  15. I own a 2014 Mercedes CLA that exhibits an intermittent issue when the vehicle halts, approaches a stop, or accelerates from a standstill. The vehicle vibrates and displays a warning light; do not shift gears and contact a workshop. I must turn the vehicle off and then on again before I can resume driving normally. Today, while en route to the garage for a diagnostic of the fault, I encountered an additional error message indicating a gearbox malfunction in red as the vehicle was stationary and prepared to accelerate. The gearbox shifted into neutral, necessitating my intervention to re-engage Drive, after which the car operated normally. The issue is sporadic, which is somewhat frustrating. The garage linked the automobile to their star diagnostics, but no problem signals or codes pertaining to the gearbox were found. The technician suggested that doing a software update, if available, may potentially resolve the issue before further investigation, since the diagnostics revealed no defects related to the gearbox. The vehicle has just reached 120,000 km and requires its second gearbox service. Any guidance would be welcomed, particularly from others who have encountered a similar issue.
  16. Likely a cost-cutting measure, reducing insulation. 🤬
  17. I have wind noise in my vehicle as well, particularly after consuming beans. However, there is an effective technique involving the insertion of a little rubber tube into the tubular section of the seal, which effectively re-inflates the thicker portion of the seal.

  21. Would there be a significant difference in switching to shocks without this component? Thank you one again.
  22. I am enquiring about the function of the additional component, and considering that retailers assert both options are compatible with the vehicle, what would be the drawbacks of installing the variant that lacks this extra part? The vehicle now has the supplementary component; nevertheless, if it is not essential, I would substitute both with the more economical combination. I presume it regulates the adjustable ride height, which I would not be very concerned about, given I do not want to engage in off-roading activities. Any assistance would be welcomed, and I apologise for the lack of technical detail; therefore the provided links!
