  1. Greetings once again, I have came across several discussions on the ticking/tapping sounds originating from the upper section of the w210 straight six diesel engines. I have a similar noise in my vehicle. It occurs when the engine is cold and seems to diminish while the engine is under strain, only to reoccur when the throttle is balanced. The noise does not appear to vary in pitch or speed in relation to the engine's RPM. I have recently performed the B service on my own, using Q8 synthetic oil, a new oil filter, diesel filter, and a new air filter. The ticking noise persists, but it is not as prominent. I find it rather bothersome, while I acknowledge that it is a minor annoyance considering the excellent performance of the vehicle. It is perplexing because the noise disappears when the car's hood is open, making it difficult to pinpoint its source. Thank you
  2. I am unable to access those private messages. If someone receives a suspicious message that seems to be a scam, please report it or forward it to me, and I will take the necessary steps to delete it. In addition, I verify the user's Internet Service Provider (ISP) and often find that it corresponds to another account. Consequently, I proceed to block both accounts. Would you want me to remove the thread?
  3. Although I have not encountered or come across this information before, I can envision its veracity. This assistant is the most unsatisfactory I have ever had.
  4. Prior to removing the drain plug, it is necessary to remove the filler plug.
  5. Do not expect a "Aussie suspension tune" very soon. They independently pursue their own strategies, regardless of the specific brand they belong to, across the southern hemisphere. I acquired knowledge about this topic from the Genesis GV-70 forum some years ago.
  6. I have made a purchase of this particular item. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JFRFJG6/ref=pe_27063361_485629781_TE_item
  7. I appreciate the responses from everyone.
  8. I own a BMW X3 F25 3.0d from 2013 and I am interested in purchasing a diagnostic tool mostly for the purpose of reading fault codes and live data. Could you please provide some recommendations?
  9. I anticipate that you will expend time and financial resources without successfully resolving the issue. I recommend considering the option of transporting the automobile to a nearby independent Mercedes-Benz specialist who has the necessary diagnostic tool called Star. If you have access to someone who can assist you with this, it might potentially be a more cost-effective solution. Alternatively, consider reaching out to nearby automotive electricians and inquire about their expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues related to an SL roof.
  10. Could a high fan speed indicate a voltage issue? Have you inspected all the fuses and grounding connections? Battery voltage refers to the electrical potential difference across a battery, which is measured in volts. Charging voltage, on the other hand, is the specific voltage required to charge a battery and restore its energy levels.
  11. Any attempt at fixing the issue is likely to seem unsatisfactory or inadequate....purchase the pre-owned one.
  12. I must concur that I have not had any difficulties while entering an automobile. However, as the years pass, exiting the vehicle becomes more challenging. Have a pleasurable experience.
  13. Indeed. I get the reasons behind the underperformance of those 1 turbo diesel engines. Engines with a capacity of 2 litres tend to have a longer lifespan compared to 3-liter diesel engines equipped with 2 turbochargers. This is mostly due to the fact that these engines were designed for distinct purposes and operate under varying workloads. Individuals who purchase 18d and 20d engines do so with the intention of acquiring a fuel-efficient means of transportation. Conversely, those who choose for 300bhp engines are often seeking a dynamic and high-speed driving experience. This rationale applies to both diesel and petrol engines. Based on the dependability rankings I have seen, BMW is ranked last, with the M5 being one of the least reliable models.
  14. Is this issue still occurring, even with the introduction of new models? I am experiencing frequent malfunctions with my e92 335d, primarily caused by the utilisation of inexpensive hoses and plastics. This leads me to question whether BMW intentionally incorporates these unreliable materials, which are susceptible to failure under conditions of high heat, vibration, and mechanical stress, with the knowledge that they will inevitably break down. Are they engaging in this behaviour to ensure their dealerships continue to generate revenue from post-sale transactions, or is there another motive behind their actions? They have been involved in the car manufacturing industry for a significant period, gaining expertise in proper procedures and selecting durable materials that can outlast others by 5-10 times. However, when I heard the CEO of BMW stating that the company's focus would shift towards reducing costs and maximising profits, rather than prioritising unit sales (which Mercedes-Benz surpassed), it confirmed their strategy of selling attractive cars with inexpensive mechanical components. People mostly choose BMW vehicles for its rich legacy, exhilarating sport driving experience, and exceptional engineering. However, it is worth noting that BMW's quality and dependability scores are very low. I am questioning whether it is intentional that I am convinced there should be complaints and a revolt from the owners. It is noteworthy that even Hyundai or Kia, once considered inferior, are currently leading the market. Therefore, if they can achieve success, I am confident that German car manufacturers can as well. However, it appears that they have ulterior motives, as evidenced by the gas emissions case. The actions of BMW, with their cars consistently failing, demonstrate a blatant disreg
  15. Upon reading this, I am really questioning if BMW intentionally incorporates inexpensive, unreliable materials in their cars that are susceptible to failure under the consistent conditions of heat, vibration, and mechanical stress, fully aware that they would likely malfunction in the near future. Are they engaging in this behaviour to ensure that their dealerships continue to generate revenue from post-sale transactions, or is there another motive behind their actions? They have been involved in the car manufacturing industry for a significant period of time, gaining expertise in producing vehicles that are built to high standards and using durable materials that can outlast their competitors by 5-10 times. However, my confidence in their approach was shaken when I heard the CEO of BMW state that the company's focus would shift towards cost reduction and maximising profits, rather than prioritising unit sales (especially after being surpassed by Mercedes-Benz ) People mostly choose BMW vehicles for its rich legacy, exhilarating sport driving experience, and exceptional engineering. However, it is worth noting that BMW's quality and dependability scores are quite low compared to other brands. I am questioning whether it is intentional that I am convinced there should be complaints and rebellion from the owners. Even Hyundai or Kia, once considered inferior, are now leaders in the industry. If they can achieve success, I believe Germans can as well. However, it seems that they have ulterior motives, as evidenced by the gas emissions case. The actions of BMW, with their cars consistently failing, are simply a display of ignorance that should not be tolerated.
  16. For optimal performance, it is recommended to have the highest quality tyres installed on the front of the vehicle, regardless of whether it is front or rear wheel drive, as long as the tyres are not different sizes.
  17. I am indifferent to igniting it, but I am always plagued by thoughts of potential consequences. Speeding on the road without knowledge of the individuals next to me is a recipe for tragedy. Engaging in a lively drive with acquaintances yields a distinct experience. I have a strong affinity for driving at high speeds, yet ensuring safety is of paramount importance to me. Each individual must confront their own risk tolerances, and the majority of those who want to participate in racing lack intelligence or expertise.
  18. I just use it to shift to a higher gear in order to optimise fuel efficiency. The previous model of the CLK had the capability to achieve the same outcome by using the gear lever, so, any method is acceptable to me.
  19. The potential issue I anticipate is that the exhaust filter is fully saturated, resulting in a decrease in engine performance. This might potentially be an emission problem, as you suggest. If that is the case, then proceed to check out with the garage. Continuing to drive might result in engine damage. I have lately experienced this. Needed to purchase a replacement filter. The automobile has been restored to its original condition.
  20. What is the age of it? This action would activate the lemon law and trigger a repurchase. This should prompt them to locate a battery, amusingly.
  21. I agree with your views. Acquired a 9000-mile MHEV without any significant complications. Several computer upgrades and other components. I never ventured outside the automobile, but rather had it fixed while I waited. The MPGs are superior than those promised.
  22. If you want to retain your car for an extended period, it is advisable to drain and replace the gearbox fluid at least every 25-35K miles or 2-3 years, whichever occurs first.
